Notes

This dungeon will always provide the following items:

  • Short Sword
  • Wood Shield
  • Guiding Tome
  • Novice Bra

Floors 1 and 4 of this dungeon are always the same.

Floors 2 and 3 introduce the procedurally-generated floors you'll encounter for the rest of the game. The layout will always be different each time you enter the dungeon, but you can expect to find the same types of enemies on the same floors with each successive visit.

The floor layout will be picked from a very limited selection of room types and items will always be picked from the same item pool.

There will be more tutorials during this dungeon. Just proceed through each floor until you reach the end. Don't forget to equip yourself and your partner with the items you find.

Floors 1-3 have enemies. Floor 4 does not.

Beware of the turtle-looking enemies called Torto on Floor 3. They only take one action for every two of yours, which makes them very slow, but they hit hard. You should always time your approach carefully so that you're able to attack them before they can attack you.

Since the first floor of this dungeon is always the same, you can revisit it repeatedly to farm Guiding Tomes, if you want. These aren't particularly expensive nor are they critical to have right now, but if you want them, you can farm them here.

After the Dungeon

After returning to the Academy, speak with anyone who has an exclamation mark over their head. This should be something you always do after clearing a dungeon.

Before embarking on the next dungeon, make sure to empty your inventory of anything you won't need to carry with you to the next dungeon. You have a limited carrying capacity, which will become increasingly important to account for as the game progresses.

Be aware that if you die in a dungeon, you lose everything you were carrying.

Additionally, be aware that clearing each dungeon on the first try with a gold rating may not always be possible. You'll be at the mercy of luck as some goals may tell you to finish while carrying a specific item and that item may not spawn or drop during your first trip.
